It's cold in Silicon Valley when you're driving and notice there's snow up on the Mountains. Sometimes I wish it snowed here but then again I've never lived in snow before so I'm not sure how I'd adapt to it especially driving in it. Since it's been cold, all I've been craving is soup. I love making them because I know what I'm putting in there unlike the store bought ones which contain preservatives. Tonight's soup contains only 3 ingredients: broccoli, cream, and chicken stock.
Ingredients:
2 cups of organic chicken stock1 head of broccoli (approximately 1 1/2 cup), cut and trimmed
1/2 cup of cream
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
In a pot, simmer the chicken stock. Add broccoli and cook until tender. Using a hand blender, puree the broccoli. Stir in cream and serve.

Believe me if it snowed here in Silicon Valley, you wouldn't have to drive...no one around here knows how to drive in snow and we'd all be staying home. I thought I paid extra money for things in this area to NOT have cold weather like this! :)
It has been unusually cold in Northen California. I thought I was going to freeze to death when I was out last night! Well, then I lived in No. Idaho, too and that was cold... anyway i've never tried broccoli soup and it looks unique and delicious!
Mrs. L, drivers in the Valley don't know how to drive in the rain so I doubt they know what to do in the snow. It's cold this year, darn you El Nino.
How simple and delicious! I know how crazy people can be driving in snow when they're not used to it. I live in Texas - Texans don't get snow, because it doesn't happen often enough! There's a few that drive super-slow, and then there's always some dumb-butt that thinks he can drive 40-50 mph on a sheet of ice. And then winds up wrapped around a pole. Be glad you don't have to deal with it!
This soup looks awesome :-D I prefer this one to the cauliflowered soup :-D . Green-ish stuff always make my stomach growl:-D
